Mazi is an exceptional filly with the best temperment and loving disposition. She wants to please you! She is that in your back pocket kinda gal and will make someone a great companion. She will excel in any discipline you chose to train her in or make you a great trail horse competively or pleasure based. She has long legs that move with her gracefully across an open pasture with a nice amount of speed. Her dam is 16.1hh and over 1250lbs, I expect Mazi will mature to be above average height and a big stocky girl as well. Mazi looks identical to her momma “Cowy”, so if you want to see how she will mature just take a look at our mares page for Cowy.

Comments from a friend, Jerry Jeppson:
She is one of those mares that Whipp’s raised out of the Dickie Thunder mares (Blue Apache Hancock is out of one of Dickies mares also). The papers will show Richard Thunder as being the breeder. Whipps sold this mare as a yearling at their sale in 1993. I bid on her but someone in Colorado bought her. She ended up at Robin’s Nest Farms and she was bred to Azul Caballo Amigo a bunch of times. She was a nice big heavy mare. Whipp’s branded great big numbers on their left shoulder in those days. I had a gelding that was number 33. I see she is number 39. I really liked this mares mother. Select Rosa was a super mare. When Hancocks Blueboy was outcrossed on these mares with no BV in them they were the best colts Whipp”s raised. I saw one stallion out of her that was well over sixteen hands.

Jerry’s Comments on her name:
They meant to name her Rebekah Hancock but the AQHA printed it on the papers as Rebekak Hancock so they named one the next year Rebekah which I purchased from them in the fall of 1993. I bought three yearlings geldings from them at their sale in June of 1993 at Centennial Livestock in Ft. Collins. Fred Gist was there and sat right behind me and bought every filly that had BV on the bottom of their papers. There were a couple that I wanted but my pockets weren’t as deep as Fred’s. The dun roan yearling gelding that was sold at the sale that I bought was Louis Gene Hancock by Hancocks Blueboy out of Blu Lady Valentine a daughter of Blue Valentine. I also bought his full sister that fall that was a super mare. Louis was branded with the number 33 on his left shoulder. Couldn’t ever forget it since the numbers were eight inches high.
