JUNEBUG is an exceptional mare that throws huge foals no matter who she is bred too. Her foals are consistant with tons of bone. JUNEBUG is the dam to our upcoming filly, ROXILLA who carries more bone then any mare I have ever seen in person (update 2019: excluding our newest addition, BECKY who is HUGE)! JUNEBUG’s type of get will work great on a working cow horse ranch. I can sure see them pulling calf’s to the branding fire. JUNEBUG is ROXILLA’s dam who I consider one of my BERTHA’s (BIG MARES). I am calling JUNEBUG a BERTHA as well due to the fact she produces BERTHA’s and is almost one herself

Gray/Brown Roan Mare

CLEO is my once in a lifetime mare. I purchased her as a weanling directly from James Birchfield who stood MR CLYDE HANCOCK. She is from MR CLYDE HANCOCK’s last foal crop. We have this special bond, very hard to explain. She is very intelligent, easy to train and catty with her moves. Her trot is perfect, no posting needed to be comfortable. She is one of the most fun horses to ride I have ever experienced. She moves totally of leg pressure, no need for reins. My herd would be lost without her, she keeps everyone in place. I held back a colt out of her in 2016 as my personal project. He has the most carefree disposition I could hope for and looks like a mini CLEO as far as bull dog body type. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Sam Kamen for contacting me about BECKY. We were not looking for any more mares, but sometimes when one crosses your path as BECKY did, it just all fell into place as the right move. Sam said to me, BECKY is your type of mare and she couldn’t have been more right! The more she told me about BECKY the more excited I got! As some of you who follow us may remember, a few years ago we acquired a HANCOCKS BLUE BOY daughter in her early twenties. Her name was REBEKAK HANCOCK (Azul Caballo AmigoJr’s dam). We saved her from ending up at a auction and took a chance on her, but due to several factors she was not breeding sound. We sent her to Robin Sewings to retire. The story I got was, she was suppose to be named REBEKAH HANCOCK, but AQHA messed up the name and it was never changed. So, the next year BROKEN BONES CATTLE CO. named BECKY’s dam REBEKAH HANCOCK (a HANCOCKS BLUE BOY daughter). To me that is was a sign that this mare was meant to end up with me. BECKY is triple bred HANCOCKS BLUE BOY making her a 50%er which in a way is equivalent to a HBB daughter. This mare carries the ole fashion size bone you will have a hard time finding today! We weighed her, she is 1500lbs! I consider BECKY BOB to be one of my BERTHA’s (BIG MARE)!

HEIDI is my personal riding mare. Her temperament is very laid back, she is bothered by very little. HEIDI has bone, height and a beautiful head. Tenn has rode her in a few Playdays where she ran barrels, poles and other events. She is athletic without the hot headedness. She has one of the best dispositions I could ever ask for. We purchased her as a weanling along with COWY who is 3 days younger. HEIDI was born broke, never offered to buck, bolt or rear. She is that horse you can relax on and rely on to get you through a ride with pleasure.

ROXILLA is absolutely the most stunning mare I have ever seen! We knew this one had that “WOW” factor from the first time we viewed her at 2wks old. We acquired her dam “JUNEBUG” with her on momma’s side. ROXY has an incredible amount of bone (way above average), but don’t let that fool you she also has breakaway speed! ROXILLA is most definitely one of my BERTHA’s coming in at 16.2 1/2hh and 1500lbs (BIG MARE).

TENNESSEE and I invested in LUCEE together. LUCEE was born and raised at AARON RANCH, then sold as a yearling. She spent the next 3yrs on the plains of South Dakota. She raised a filly in 2023. After the filly was weaned, we purchased her bred back the same way. LUCEE is currently in foal to a gorgeous line-bred DRIFTWOOD stallion, TDM WILLY WOOD IKE. LUCEE’s pedigree compliments our program. She brings to the table a high percentage of GOOSEBERRY. Both of our stallion’s do as well. So, paired with her their “get” will be preserving the GOOSBERRY line. On her bottom side, she brings to the table BROKEN BONES breeding through the WHIPPS line back to HANCOCKS BLUE BOY. IMO, that is where her size comes into play. I would for sure consider her one of my newest BERTHA’s (BIG MARE). LUCEE carries a huge amount of bone and is as wide as she is tall. Don’t let that statement take away from the fact she is extremely fast. LUCEE is very smart, her disposition is kind and willing. We are very excited to be adding this young mare to our line-bred BLUE VALENTINE/JOE HANCOCK program.

As soon as we learned TENNESSEE was pregnant (winter of 2021), we all began looking for a pony. In May 2021 we found VOODOO. She is a safe, bomb proof childs pony which we just could not pass up on. Our plans with her are to temporarily place her into our brood mare band and let her earn her keep while unborn baby TRIPP gets his first few years worth of age on him. TENN plans on keeping her in tune by offering limited riding lessons on her for her younger children cliental. TRIPP can start on VOODOO 1st then step up with a son out of her by SWISHER HANCOCK on down the road. So in the meantime, VOODOO’s up n’ coming get will be for sale through maybe 2024. I will get them registered through the Quarter Pony Registery.
Update 06/14/2021: Well, our new pony is a SILVER BLACK ROAN. Best I can figure is the visual will be present in the mane and tail, not so much the coat. Also, on red based offspring you will not be able to tell if the silver is present or not, just in our case bred to SWISHER brown and black roans. Also, learned only called a silver black roan if there is silver, otherwise called blue roan.
